Psalm 102

Read this passage!

Let my cry for help come to You, and answer me quickly. Do not hide Your face from me for I am in distress. My days vanish like smoke, and my heart is blighted and withered like grass.
I lie awake, forget to eat, groaning and crying in distress.

But God, you respond to the prayer of the destitute (of heart).

With today’s economy, unemployment, crime, volcanic eruptions, corrupt leaders, and the erosion of moral society, is it any wonder that many of us become victims of circumstances? If we keep our eyes focused on this world, is it any wonder we fall victim to depression, deep and dark?

Like the old hymn “Turn Your Eyes Upon Jesus,” we must daily remember to focus on the eternal. Remember Isaiah 41:9-10:

“I took you from the ends of the earth, from its farthest corners I called you. I said, ‘You are my servant’; I have chosen you and have not rejected you. So do not fear, for I am with you; do not be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you; I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.”
